All Smiles.

This is one of my favorite pictures of miss lily.
She seems to be full of smiles when she first wakes up from her naps,
not to mention queen of crazy hair.

Gosh, I love this girl.

Time Flies! 2 Months Old!

I can't believe Lily is 2 months old already!
(She's actually 10 weeks today, I'm just late posting)

Our little chunker weighed in at

12lbs 13oz
and
22 inches

Despite being born 3 weeks early and at only 6lbs, she hasn't wasted
any time catching up... she's in the 90th percentile for her weight.
Joe's not allowed to call her fat, so I put together a list of acceptable adjectives
that he's allowed to use and they have to be said in a sweet baby voice
so Lily (and I) are not offended...

chunk chunk
tubber
thunder thighs
chubby cheeks
roly poly
butter ball
chunky monkey

I hope this face is no indication as to what her little attitude might be like
as she gets older! :)

Happy Happy Friday

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Charging.

Lily was snoozing on the couch and Joe's computer cord just happened to be nearby.
The amateur photographer/blogger in me kicked in and I couldn't help myself...

I "plugged" that cord into my sweet sleeping baby and snapped a picture.

then i laughed.

i love being a mom.

The holiday season would not be complete without...

My favorite is Lily's breakdance solo... and the snake :)

Yaya? Nonna? Nana?

My mom came to play for the day...
(I know she loves me, but Lily was the real reason for her visit!)
But she's in a pickle... she doesn't know what she wants Lily to call her.
Both of my grandmothers are still alive (Nana and Grandma)
So does she need to go by something different?
Does it matter if there are 2 Nanas?
Or should she try something different...
Like...
Kupuna wahine (Hawaiian for grandmother)
YaYa (Greek for Grandmother)
Seanmháthair (Irish for Grandmother)
Oma (German & Dutch for Grandma)

What do you think...?

German Apple Pancakes

This morning as I was listening to Nsync Christmas (yes. you read that right)
I had the craving for something cinnamony and delicious for breakfast.
I found this recipe a while back on Real Mom Kitchen.
I love apples and I love German Pancakes, so I decided to give it a try.
HIT. THE. SPOT.

8 eggs
1 ½ cup flour
1 ½ cup milk
1 tsp salt
¼ cup butter
3 medium apples thinly sliced and pared
½ cup brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon

Turn oven on to 400 degrees. Slice up butter in 9x13 pan and place in oven while preparing the Apples. Put apples in warm melted butter, spread them out and sprinkle cinnamon over them…place back in the oven. Beat eggs, flour, milk and salt together for 1 minute. Pour batter over apples. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon (I mixed these together and then sprinkled on)over the entire top, and place in oven for about 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

Playing Downright Dirty

I turned on the news this morning and was a little surprised that BYU had made the headlines.
You won't believe this video...
New Mexico's player should have been kicked out of the game for playing downright dirty.
BYU still won though, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it Lambert.

1 Month Old

8 pounds 8 ounces
19 inches

It's hard to believe that Lily will be 5 weeks old tomorrow!
She is growing so fast... as of this last doctor's appointment she had gained 2lbs in 2 weeks!
Needless to say she's eating well, sleeping great, and bringing so much happiness into our home.
We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby!

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we dressed Miss Lily up in her Halloween outfit (thanks Aunt Kristy)
and took her to her very first pumpkin patch to pick out the tiniest, most perfect pumpkin :)
AND... as you can tell by the pictures, she was incredibly excited to be there!
So excited, in fact, that she didn't open her eyes the entire time we were there... not even once.

A First of Many

The last couple of days have been absolutely beautiful in San Francisco
so Lily and I have been taking advantage of the weather
and of our AMAZING new stroller! (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

She looks so tiny in the stroller, but I think it got her stamp of approval
when she fell asleep within the first 3 minutes of our walk.
I'm glad she likes it because after a few more weeks of healing you better believe
I'll be hitting Golden Gate Park for a daily walk or run in the park :)

All Dressed Up

Yesterday was Lily's first time to church
and even though she was either asleep, being changed, or eating for the entire 3 hours...
(welcome to my life)
she looked cute, and that's all that matters! :)

Growing up,
Where the Wild Things Are was one of my favorite books
and I couldn't be more EXCITED to see the
new movie that just came out yesterday!
